I don’t mind people who don’t read. But I do feel uncomfortable around people who say wear “I’ve never read a book in my life!” as a sort of badge of honour. The same way I feel uncomfortable around people who say things like “Oh I don’t watch the news! So depressing, na?” I don’t ask that people be brilliant and informed and well-read, but I don’t like seeing the absence of those qualities being glorified.
