		<description>Hi LMM, thanks for dropping by. Even I have been lucky enough to have a number of mentors I was able to call upon, for advice, support, a willing shoulder (or ear), and yes for help! I think David&#039;s point is to do with the organisation you work with/for, and the people therein who have a formal relationship with you.

		<description>I would disagree with the first point about nobody looking out for ur best interests in ur career, but only because i have been lucky enough to have had a mentor...but i would agree with ur point from a general point of view...
and yes, very few people actually get promoted because they deserve it..most of the times, it is coz of the connection u have or the relationships u maintain..or to put it crudely, the a@# -licking u do..</description>
