Windsor – Spice Route

19 Apr

This is an un-ashamed plug. And no, I wasn't paid for this!

We'd heard of a nice little Indian restaurant in Windsor called Spice Route (not Indian cuisine, but Indian! For my Brit friends, there is a difference in the two, you know!!)

So, while on our Windsor trip, we decided to check it out. Well, you know what, we could't find it! Not daunted by such small setbacks, we decided to hunt for it again the next day. Found it tucked in a nice little galli, in front of the castle (very close to McDonald's).

Let me just say this: The food was the best any of us has had in the last god-knows-how-many-years! It is simply the stuff dreams are made up of. And the owner Mridula Baljekar was there herself to make you feel right at home. The service reminded one of home too!

If you are looking for a nice alternative to the English curries, look no further. Pay this place a visit & check it out for yourself (Be warned though, the bill for 2 people would be about £40-50. But that's a small price to pay for the Real Thing!).
