It had naught to do with superior firepower, or any innate skill at conquering, defending and/or running the lands they acquired.

The difference was in the desperation levels.

With the English, the desperation was driven by one factor above all else: The miserable weather back home!

I’m certain the English commanders everywhere threatened their troops that if they lost, they would have to return to England to face the weather!!
As you can guess, the weekend passes slowly! 😉
