India Trip

25 Dec

Our India trip continues. As I anticipated, it’s full of food, cards, family time, food, chats with friends, and did i mention food?!

Bangalore was a rocking experience once again. The city has overtaken Mumbai in terms of energy levels. The roads are fantastic, but the traffic is horrendous, just a small sign of the atrocious city planning, and a government that’s more interested in parochial vote-mongering. Changing city names, and making kannada a compulsory medium of instruction in schools may or may not serve Kannada pride; they will surely drive business and employment opportunities away, especially when accompanied with total lack of focus on urban amenities.

We visited the Jungle Lodges for 3 days. It was a truly memorable experience, rounded off by a heart-warming trip to the Butterfly Park (close to the Bannerghatta Zoo). 500 butterflies surrounding you in a greenhouse is not something you are likely to forget!

Bangalore Bloggers Meet happened on 20th Dec at (where else) Shiok, with Madman playing bartender & The Eminent Blogger presiding. Jokes apart, it was great. If all Bloggers meets are like this, bring them on. In attendance were Deepak, Gautam, Aadisht & Prabhu. There was some weird talk of “hands on shoulders”, and “being on floor with him on me”, etc. But our lips are sealed, and we shall say no more since this is a family blog. 😉

And talking of The Eminent Blogger today tomorow is his birthday. So a very happy 33rd birthday Amit. May you live forever, and continue entertaining, enlightening & educating us. And may FSM keep my kids away from your blog!

The trip continues…I’m now in Mumbai, and there’s sure to be a few memorable (or bloggable) incidents…watch this space!

Great to hear from you dude. Looks like you are having lots of fun. Shiok is a must go place .. will check it out next time round. Will look out for the mumbai leg of your trip .. !

Happy xmas btw to you, j, a and a. these days in the UK saying “Merry” xmas seems to be politically incorrect coz “merry” insinuates a feeling of being drunk apparently! anyways .. to me “happy” is equally insinuating of whatever ..cheers : )
